A Hymn to Lord Shree Narayan
Shlok (Verse)
Oṁ jaya Jagadīśa hare, Swāmī jaya Jagadīśa hare,
Bhakta janoṁ ke saṅkaṭa, Dāsa janoṁ ke saṅkaṭa, kṣaṇa meṁ dūra kare.
Translation
Om, Victory to You, Lord of the Universe! O Master, victory to You!
The troubles of Your devotees, the sorrows of Your servants, You remove in an instant.
Shlok (Verse)
Jo dhyāve phala pāve, duḥkha binase mana kā,
Sukha sampati ghara āve, sukha sampati ghara āve, kaṣṭa miṭe tana kā.
Translation
Whoever meditates on You reaps the rewards, and the mind's sorrows vanish.
Joy and prosperity enter their home, and the body's afflictions are healed.
Shlok (Verse)
Māta pitā tuma mere, śaraṇa gahūɱ maiṁ kisakī,
Tuma bina aura na dūjā, tuma bina aura na dūjā, āsa karūɱ maiṁ jisakī.
Translation
You are my mother and my father; whose shelter could I seek but Yours?
Besides You, there is no other in whom I can place my hope.
Shlok (Verse)
Tuma pūraṇa paramātmā, tuma antaryāmī,
Pārabrahma parameśvara, pārabrahma parameśvara, tuma saba ke svāmī.
Translation
You are the perfect, absolute Self; You are the knower of all hearts.
You are the Supreme Brahman, the Ultimate Lord; You are the master of all.
Shlok (Verse)
Tuma karuṇā ke sāgara, tuma pālanakartā,
Maiṁ mūrakha khala kāmī, maiṁ sevaka tuma svāmī, kr̥pā karo bhartā.
Translation
You are the ocean of compassion, You are the sustainer of all.
I am foolish and flawed, yet I am Your servant and You are my Lord; please bestow Your grace.
Shlok (Verse)
Tuma ho eka agocara, saba ke prāṇapati,
Kisa vidhi milūɱ dayāmaya, kisa vidhi milūɱ dayāmaya, tumako maiṁ kumati.
Translation
You are the One, beyond perception, the Lord of every soul.
O merciful One, how can this misguided soul ever hope to reach You?
Shlok (Verse)
Dīna-bandhu duḥkha-hartā, ṭhākura tuma mere,
Apane hātha uṭhāo, apanī śaraṇa lagāo, dvāra paṛā tere.
Translation
Friend of the helpless, remover of sorrow, You are my Lord.
Raise Your hand to bless me and take me into Your refuge; I have fallen at Your door.
Shlok (Verse)
Viṣaya-vikāra miṭāo, pāpa haro devā,
Śraddhā bhakti baṛhāo, śraddhā bhakti baṛhāo, santana kī sevā.
Translation
Remove my worldly attachments and impurities, erase my sins, O Lord.
Increase my faith and devotion, and my desire to serve the saints.
