A Hymn to Goddess Shree Lakshmi
Shlok (Verse)
Oṁ jaya Lakṣmī Mātā, maiyā jaya Lakṣmī Mātā.
Tumako niśadina sevata, Hara Viṣṇu Vidhātā.
Translation
Om, Victory to You, Mother Lakshmi! O Mother, victory to You!
Day and night, You are served by Hari (Vishnu), Har (Shiva), and the Creator (Brahma).
Shlok (Verse)
Umā, Ramā, Brahmāṇī, tuma hī jaga-mātā.
Sūrya-candramā dhyāvata, Nārada r̥ṣi gātā.
Translation
You are Uma, Rama, and Brahmani; You alone are the Mother of the Universe.
The Sun and Moon meditate upon You, and the sage Narada sings Your glories.
Shlok (Verse)
Durgā rūpa nirañjanī, sukha sampatti dātā.
Jo koī tumako dhyāvata, r̥ddhi-siddhi dhana pātā.
Translation
In Your pure form as Durga, You are the bestower of happiness and wealth.
Whoever meditates on You attains prosperity, spiritual powers, and riches.
Shlok (Verse)
Tuma pātāla-nivāsinī, tuma hī śubhadātā.
Karma-prabhāva-prakāśinī, bhavanidhi kī trātā.
Translation
You reside in the netherworlds, and You are the giver of all that is auspicious.
You illuminate the effects of karma and are the savior from the ocean of worldly existence.
Shlok (Verse)
Jisa ghara meṁ tuma rahatī, tahaɱ saba sadguṇa ātā.
Saba sambhava ho jātā, mana nahiṁ ghabarātā.
Translation
In whichever home You reside, all virtues come to dwell.
Everything becomes possible, and the mind is never troubled.

Tuma bina yajña na hote, vastra na koī pātā.
Khāna-pāna kā vaibhava, saba tumase ātā.
Translation
Without You, no sacred rituals can be performed, nor can anyone obtain clothing.
The splendor of all food and drink comes from You alone.

Śubha-guṇa mandira sundara, kṣīrodadhi-jātā.
Ratna caturdaśa tuma bina, koī nahiṁ pātā.
Translation
You are a beautiful temple of auspicious virtues, born from the Ocean of Milk.
Without You, no one could have obtained the fourteen divine treasures.

Mahālakṣmījī kī āratī, jo koī jana gātā.
Ura ānanda samātā, pāpa utara jātā.
Translation
Whoever devotedly sings this Aarti of Mahalakshmi,
Their heart is filled with bliss, and all their sins are washed away.
